monochrome

silk gap blouse - thrifted
vintage striped belt - estate sale
vintage corduroy bellbottoms - estate sale
gold montego bay sandals - thrifted
black and white chevron clutch - white house black market

The idea of vintage corduroy bellbottoms doesn’t lend itself to dressing up for a night out, but that’s just what I did. I paired these with a silk top and gold sandals. The monochromatic color scheme ties it all together, and a sleek low bun, earrings, and nice clutch takes it up a notch from casual to upscale casual.

Did I mention corduroy and upscale in the same breath? A sartorial paradox of sorts, I suppose, but I do love how it turned out.

silver linings

How a fender bender, a flat tire, and being shat on by a bird - all in the same week, mind you - totally impaired my ability to do an outfit post for a whole month is beyond me.

blouse : gap, thrifted
skirt : georges memmi paris, thrifted
belt : vintage, estate sale
shoes : sm new york, thrifted
thrift brag : total cost for this outfit - $10

But, and I'm sure totally unrelated, the pool is open.

And that means summer, folks.

And that is good enough for a silver lining in my book.

And an outfit post. ;)
